Tell us about your week!
At the beginning of this week it was pretty simple. My host sister was sick so I stayed home to help take care of her for Tuesday’s and Wednesday! It was filled with a movie marathon, snacks and lots of cuddles. On Wednesday my host family’s last Au Pair Charlotte came to stay at the house until she left on her new adventure in New Zealand! It was nice to get some insight on taking care of the girls, she was a very sweet woman.

On Thursday we went to a very nice dinner to say goodbye to Charlotte and let me tell you, Australians know how to make gourmet food. I didn’t even know how to pronounce my meals but they were so delicate, unlike anything I’ve had before.

After dinner I went out salsa dancing with a few friends that are studying in Brisbane! It was so much fun, it reminded me of being back home. The weekend came around and I had plans to meet up with a friends that was traveling back home to Germany to start his studies. My sister got into Australia a few weeks ago so she came to the city and we got a hostel together so we could go out with my German friend. Hostels are my favorite way of meeting people, there’s just something about it. Backpackers just know how it feels to be traveling on your own, it’s reassuring. My German friend left Saturday so I ended up going to the Brisbane festival where there was loads of food, street performers, and a light show on the river. I had a very fun week!
