What were you grateful for this week?
Sleep.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Jet lag.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
So far I have only met my host dad and yesterday he had the day off so I got some time to be able to bond and get to know him.

Tell us about your week!
My journey to Australia was long and interesting haha. I slept in the SFO airport overnight, sat next to a girl who is from Wyoming on the plane from San Francisco to Shanghai who is my age and also traveling to Australia on her own (new friend made), ate Chinese food in the Shanghai airport with my new friend (I understand the Americanized Chinese food now), and then sat between a very chatty Chinese couple on the plane to Brisbane.

So far I am loving the heat and Aussie way of life. I feel like I am almost learning a new language; they call grocery carts ???? trolleys, liquor stores the bottle-o, garbage cans rubbish bins, and so much more.

I have only met my host dad so far but he has been very kind and welcoming. I am nannying for three younger girls and they get back from holiday today and I am so excited to be able to meet them and have little buddies to hang out with.

Jet lag has been hard after about 7:00pm it’s almost impossible to keep my eyes open but each day gets a little easier. Having a pool in the backyard and little fur friends follow me around have made it that much better. ☀️ ????????
