What were you grateful for this week?
Warm coats and hot coffee.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
I’ve been missing my family and friends back home a little more than usual but then I remember i’m in Italy and then I’m fine.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
This week both of my host parents went out of town and I stayed home with the kids. It was a long week but there was a lot of bonding!! When my host dad came home he told me the kids were starting to become very attached to me and that was a very reassuring thing to hear because sometimes you just don’t really know how they feel about you.

Tell us about your week!
This weekend S2, K & I went to Berlin, Germany. It was S2’s 22nd birthday so of course we had to celebrate. It seems European planes are always delayed so we got to Berlin a little later than planned but we definitely made the most of it.

We went to a lounge called Fairytale and it was SO COOL!!! It had total Shrek feels and our drinks came in glass slippers. Later that night we went to a club and listed to some classic old school songs and dance all night long. We were literally on the dance floor for 4 hours. Theme song of this trip was “Bulletproof” because if you would’ve been walking down Torstraße street at 3 in the morning you would’ve found us dancing out butts off to that song on the sidewalk. The next day we slept in, which felt so nice. Usually our weekend trips are exhausting so we tried to relax and enjoy a little more. We went to starbucks and got some hot coffee because it was sooooo cold!!

We went to the Brandenburg Gate. While we were there a huge wedding party pulled up and people were honking horns and playing music, everyone was dancing and laughing and it was so random but we loved it.

We also made it to the Berlin Wall at 1 in the morning…after we just watched a scary movie. I wish I could say I enjoyed it but I was so paranoid and scared that Michael Meyers was about to pop out. I loved Berlin and I hope to go back again someday. NEXT UP: SWITZERLAND!!!!
